LaPatin presents undergraduate research at symposium

Michaela LaPatin of Barnegat (08005) presented her undergraduate research project at the fourth annual Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium, held Aug. 5 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.

LaPatin, who is a senior majoring in Civil Engineering and Management for Engineers at Bucknell University, presented research on Rebuilding after Superstorm Sandy: An Observation of the Staten Island Long Term Recovery Organization.

LaPatin is the daughter of Brian and Joan LaPatin and a graduate of Barnegat High School.

Undergraduates from all disciplines were invited to present their research at a poster session. Presentations were evaluated in three categories: Clinical and Translational Research, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Natural Sciences and Engineering. The Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium is co-sponsored by Bloomsburg University, The Bucknell Institute for Public Policy, Geisinger Health System and Susquehanna University.
