McLaughlin presents undergraduate research at symposium

Seamus McLaughlin of Bethlehem (06751) presented his undergraduate research project at the fourth annual Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium, held Aug. 5 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.

McLaughlin, who is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies at Bucknell University, presented research on Floods on the Susquehanna: Small River Towns, Flood Mitigation and Response Strategies Reshape their Land Uses and Urban Centers.

McLaughlin is the son of Jennifer Woodward and James McLaughlin and a graduate of Taft School.

Undergraduates from all disciplines were invited to present their research at a poster session. Presentations were evaluated in three categories: Clinical and Translational Research, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Natural Sciences and Engineering. The Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium is co-sponsored by Bloomsburg University, The Bucknell Institute for Public Policy, Geisinger Health System and Susquehanna University.
